S. Palaniandi Mudaliar Charitable Trust was established in 1975 under the guidance of Sri S.P. Sambandam. Initially, in 1976, it commenced as a modest outpatient clinic. Over the years, it expanded into SPMM Hospital by 1997, now boasting 100 beds and providing a comprehensive array of specialty services to the community.

Sri S.P. Sambandam Mudaliar is renowned as a leading textile industrialist in Salem.

S.P. Sambandam pioneered the establishment of S. Palaniandi Mudaliar Memorial Hospital, a five-storey, 100-bedded multi-specialty hospital that commenced operations on March 10, 1997. Known for his unwavering dedication to social welfare and active involvement in public endeavors, he has steered SPMM Hospital to steadfastly serve the community with dedication and commitment ever since.
